Elaine Williams
Overcoming Emotional Eating
Elaine Williams is a certified life coach, and an eating disorder survivor. She was put on her first diet when she was 6 years old; and was binging, purging, and abusing laxatives by the time she was 12. Elaine’s weight went up and down as she went from diet to diet. She tried them all: Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Cabbage Soup, Grapefruit, Hollywood Diet, and more. She didn’t gain the freshman 15; it was more like the freshman 30! She spent years obsessing about food, exercise, and her weight. After finally putting down the laxatives and other drugs, Elaine had to uncover the underlying reasons WHY she abused herself and ate when she was not hungry. Elaine shares her insight into why so many young adults struggle with emotional eating when dealing with the pressures of college life. She offers solutions for students who are using food to “stuff” their emotions. Her many years of training and certification through the Ford Institute for Integrative Coaching at JFK University makes this lecture extremely informative and transformational. Elaine’s unique ability to make this serious subject entertaining has made her a sought after speaker and respected expert in the field.
She shares her inspiring and humorous story, gives out resources for further education and support, and takes questions from the audience. Elaine’s highly energetic lecture is as engaging as it is educational. |
